Some preliminary character sketches for a collaborative animation project I’m part of.
I’m probably going to post a lot today since I am sick and hiding in bed chugging tea with lime and honey.
Awkward panorama taken from under the installation.
Better photos when gallery lighting is set.
Upholstering some wall circles with painted, printed, and embroidered stuff.
Packing boxes full of paper crystals to be hung in the Marsh Gallery tomorrow with a bunch of other stuff.
Some home style Japanese cooking for dinner: roasted squash and potatoes, soba, tamagoyaki, cucumber and ginger, and avocado. Yum yum.
Finishing up the last batches of prints for my installation.
By the end of today, I will have pulled a varied edition of 129 multiple layer screenprints in two and a half days.
Then I have to cut up everything and fold most of the paper into various prismatic forms.
Expect a wave of posts soon with photos from the entire endevor.
I built my own frames and stretched some screen fabric over the weekend. They seem tight enough, but I’ll be testing them out this week.
I decided to do this after the lackluster results of rescreening one of my aluminum frames myself. There was too much puckering and not enough tension, so I think I’ll send it off to be professionally redone along with my other aluminum frame.
I saved myself $60 by making velcro straps for my polo bike and almost killed my sewing machine in the process.
Figuring out some background patterns to print on small wood panels.
There is some serious knitting and crocheting happening this evening. Not sure why.
