It’s so good to have my baby back in one piece again.

Leonine’s wheel set was upgraded from Vs to b43s with phil hubs and new tires. Waiting on new Nitto bullhorns, Deda track drops, and track grips for both. And I need to knit/crochet a new bar muff.

Time to dismantle Lolo and clean all his moving bits and fix whatever is wrong with the rear front derailleur.

I organized the bike pile today (additional wheels and tires are elsewhere.) I think I am recovered enough from last years accident to justify reassembling all my fixies and polo bike.

I have a really good reason for putting cats in cycling spandex.

Really, I do.

You’ll see.

I forgot my clothes to change at home and everyone at uni has been forced to spend all day with me in my wool and spandex.

It was a very lonely two and half months without riding any bikes. I’m glad it’s over with. 

It’s true.

Bicyclists, wear your helmets. They work. 

On Friday while on a delivery, I had a car versus bike accident in which my head and face bounced off the south 100 block of Meridian Street. I was up and dragging my sad bike off the street within a few minutes of a brief period of unconsciousness.

Okay, so I was concussed, my head was bleeding, my glasses destroyed, and had to go to the ER and have a CAT scans for my head and several spine and hip X-rays, but I think my Bern zip mold helmet did a pretty good job considering it’s now cracked and has holes punched into it. Monona is also mangled.

Three days later, my body still hates me because it is still a mess of bruises and angry muscle groups and the area of my face that made out with the asphalt is still a lump under a giant bandage. However I have most of my mobility back* and I should be going back to work on Wednesday riding Lolo instead and wearing a new helmet. 

Again, wear your helmet and ride safe. 

* Edit: Actually while I could move, it turned out I had some brain damage from the accident and have motor control problems with my left extremities.

It feels weird to be riding fixed for the first time in over two months. Just one more week until I’m allowed to start running and ride clipless again.

This is how you I go to art school when you I don’t have a car. I love my Mission Workshop pack.

Insomnia + spent bike tubes. I’ll probably run out of them before I finish.

Oh hey, it’s 3something AM. I’m back from polo tourney. Time to jump in the shower, go to uni, and make three more prints before 9 AM crit. Haaaaaah.

Threw it together in a couple hours by scavenging parts off other bikes or what was in my big parts box. Work in progress.
