I finally finished the bike I was building for my mom in time for Mother’s Day.
It took me a lot longer than it should have, but it’s done. Yeah, I know those bars are at a weird angle, but it’s her first road bike. She’ll level up to lycra, foot retention, and riding in the drops later.
Any excuse is a good excuse to put glitter on things.
BTW, if you didn’t already notice, I’m reblogging things from my other accounts.
Not so much of a collaboration, but more of a large group project.
Imagine a four-person photography relay using a disposable camera through the mail. I named our group Team Sparkle Pony and as a result felt compelled to glue some glitter on our camera.
I know we are not in first place as one group has already successfully completed their circuit and developed their photos. I’ll be posting ours here when our group finishes.
More character sketches. Trying something more simplified.
Little Girl with noodles and nubs.
I have been getting worse instead of better, so I finally dragged my coughy sniffly self to the doctor today.
When I got back home, I found two very exciting pieces of mail waiting for me: my Art House Co-op sketchbook and my Square.
“A wild girl looking down towards the ground from the branches of a giant tree.”
Resuming posts of drawing suggestions.
“Draw my face from memory.”
This was so difficult. It takes me a really long time to get to know faces well enough to do that, which is why this is super vague and has no lines to define contours of facial features.
I tried. D:
All this week I am going to be making drawings based on suggestions from other people. So feel free to send me ideas through here, twitter (@naomimaria), or in disqus comments to this post.
After this week, I will still take ideas, they just won’t be my top priority.
Two heads make a mustache. What a jem!
It would probably help to read the words that go with this.
This is a little something for picture+word, a collaboration project/illustration exercise I am doing with Matt. I promise it will produce more weirdness.
P.S.: I am sad that tumblr does not let me reblog posts from other tumblrs I contribute to.
Insomnia + spent bike tubes. I’ll probably run out of them before I finish.
Second polo bike! This time going back to fixed, because I didn’t care for playing single speed.
Threw it together in a couple hours by scavenging parts off other bikes or what was in my big parts box. Work in progress.
Before, during, after photos of my first single speed polo bike build. More progress shots and larger photos will be on flickr soon.
